GENERAL SUMMARY

Aircuity, Inc., a fast-growing technology leader in commercial building energy efficiency and indoor air quality solutions, has an immediate opening for an Accounting Clerk.

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for accounts payable operational processes and controls. The focus for this position is to provide management and support for the Finance & Operations teams. This position is instrumental in assuring an efficient operating environment for the Aircuity team, planning, and organizing for many of the tasks that improve quality and throughput of business operations, in this innovative and fast-moving business culture. This position reports to the Chief Accounting Officer and is based in Philadelphia area with a flexible schedule.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for:

• Accounts Payable including:
  • Processing PO invoices through a three-way match on the company’s ERP system.
  • Resolving discrepancies on invoices by contacting the Operations team and/or vendors directly.
  • Processing non-PO invoices after approval from the appropriate individuals.
  • Reconciling vendor statements.
• Posting cash receipts.
• Calculating freight for customer invoices and adding to the sales orders.
• Multiple account and bank reconciliations.
• Follow-up with customers for past-due balances.
• Sales tax filings.

We are looking for someone who enjoys a focused and creative work environment and has a reputation for demonstrating initiative and high and accurate follow through with a demonstrable attention to detail. The Accounting Clerk will work closely with the CAO and have daily interaction with staff, customers, and suppliers.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains and enforces a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
• Ensure that accounts payable and accounts receivable are timely and accurate.
• Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit.
• Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

BACKGROUND SOUGHT

• Experience in Accounts Payable processing.
• Background with client/customer support, including billing and troubleshooting for administrative issues.
• Support internal efforts to improve how Aircuity serves internal and external clients.
• Familiarity with managing vendors.

PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration or equivalent business experience is desired.
• 2 years of experience in accounts payable processing.
• Prior experience in a service or manufacturing company.
